IDOL

No this post is not about my idol. I was just watching American Idol on tv, the new season. It airs here about 3 weeks later than in the US,but atleast its not more than that (we get some tv shows a year after they air in the US..). And then, right after that, another channel shows Finnish Idol (also new) and the difference.. Oh my God!
You could really think that Finnish Idol is a parody of American Idol. Im so sorry everyone who got thru to the next round on Finnish idol but come on. Is it really true that in this country of mine, you cant find singers with loud, deep, lasting voice? Instead we get these little mouse voices or people yell. Ofcourse there is some good ones, well not ofcourse. Sometimes, there is one or two good ones. I do understand that there is a HUGE difference in these countries and size would be the biggest one. I know that Finland is the size of a state, and the whole Europe is like the United States. But still, even in one state, you can find a bunch of AMAZING singers that really can compare to Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson. Over here, its rare if you get someone who can try to mimic Britney Spears on a bad day.. It is so sad to notice that the WINNERS of Finnish Idol wouldnt even get thru in the American version. Finnish idol disappears from the lime light in about six months or less, and American Idol makes millions and becomes one of the most popular singers in the world. WHY IS THAT? Do we not have good singing teachers here or what? Do we not dare to dream about making singing our profession, so that we would try to make ourselves better? Come on Finland, sing, SING, SING!!

Carrie Underwood audition. She was from a small city, a farm actually. The same age as the one below when she auditioned.

Anna Abreu, the winner of Finnish Idol. And actually the best one to ever come out of the show in Finland. And still, no comparison. No hard feelings to Anna, she can sing, here in Finland..

I guess im starting to be a Finland hater. Just kidding, i LOVE  my country. Theres just many things that i dont understand, but i guess i dont have to.

xxoo
